Welcome back!
A good night’s sleep is essential for your physical and emotional wellbeing. So what can you do to improve your sleep pattern?
You know how frustrating it is when you can’t get a good night’s sleep. Or when you don’t get a restful sleep, which is almost as bad as not sleeping at all. If your body doesn’t feel rested, you’re going to feel miserable. Without a good sleep your body is completely exhausted and you can’t seem to do anything the right way.
A good night’s sleep will give you a great start to the day. You will be more alert, feel better, and will be able to take the day with real enthusiasm.
There are ways to help you get a more restful night’s sleep without having to resort to the use of prescription or over the counter sleep aids. Here are 7 that I recommend:
1. Take a brisk walk in the evening. You dont need to have a big workout, but any activity that tires your body a little will help you sleep.
2. Don’t eat a big meal before you go to bed. A small healthy snack is ok, but anything heavy will make it harder to sleep. I prefer a large breakfast and a smaller dinner.
3. Dont watch TV in bed. You need to associate the bed with sleep only. If you are going to watch TV, do it in the living room. The bed should be for sleeping only. Some people claim to fall asleep better with the TV on, but its likely they are not getting a restful night’s sleep.
4. A warm bath an hour before bedtime will help relax your body and mind. Aroma therapy candles or bath salts also will help. Try a bubble bath, spoil yourself.
5. Cut back on caffeine through the day, and avoid it completely 5 pm or so.
6. Warm milk really does cause a chemical reaction that helps you to relax naturally and fall asleep better.
7. Relax a little, and dont take on any mentally challenging tasks before you go to sleep. Otherwise you will end up lying in bed thinking about what you were just doing, instead of sleeping. Dont do your taxes just before you go to bed if you want to get some sleep!
When your body doesn’t get sufficient sleep it can cause a great deal of havoc on your system as a whole. If you are just beginning to see signs of a sleeping problem, don’t let your sleeping problem get out of hand. If your sleeping problem does get worse you might want to think about contacting a professional.
How well did you sleep last night?

I’m so lucky that I can just go to sleep like that. I have no problem whatsoever in sleeping lol

I usually sleep straight through the night unless my cat comes up on the bed by me. Then I wake up to pet her and I don’t mind one single bit! I love it when she comes up letting me pet her all nice–it doesn’t usually happen during the day so I’ll take it whenever I can get it.
If I lay on the couch watching TV, I do usually fall asleep–especially if its a football or baseball game, or even a movie with long commercials. I love my movie channels on Direct TV that don’t have those annoying commercials that put me to sleep!
